Preliminary autopsy results from the Arkansas Crime Laboratory have confirmed that Mindy McCready’s cause of death was suicide, the Cleburne County sheriff’s office said Wednesday.
McCready, 37, died from a single gunshot wound in her head Sunday afternoon at her home in Heber Springs.
Her body was found on the front porch of the house at 1132 Fox Chase Drive, authorities said.
McCready, 37, recorded five albums over a career that began in 1995. She recorded 12 songs that made the Billboard country singles chart, including the 1996 No. 1 hit “Guys Do It All the Time.”
