Little Rock man arrested in armed robbery of gas station

LITTLE ROCK — Authorities say a Little Rock man has been arrested in the armed robbery of a Pulaski County gas station.
Robert Gates, 19, confessed to holding up the Valero station at 14401 Arch St. two times — once early Tuesday morning and once last week, police said.
According to a Pulaski County sheriff's office report, deputies were called to the gas station about 2:30 a.m. after a man entered the store, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money and cigarettes.
The robber was gone when authorities arrived, but a responding deputy stopped Gates at Scott Hamilton Drive and 81st Street and arrested him.
Gates was booked into the Pulaski County jail on charges including aggravated robbery, theft of property and carrying a prohibited weapon.
