Encyclopedia of Arkansas adds mobile website

— The Encyclopedia of Arkansas is going mobile.

The Butler Center for Arkansas Studies says it now offers a mobile website for the Encyclopedia of Arkansas History & Culture.

The encyclopedia is a free source of information about Arkansas’ history, geography and culture. The mobile website was paid for by a grant from the Arkansas Humanities Council.

David Stricklin, the head of the Butler Center, says making the website mobile-friendly makes it easier for people to learn more about Arkansas as they travel throughout the state.

The Butler Center says the encyclopedia now has more than 3,100 entries and 4,200 pieces of media, including photographs, maps, video, documents and audio.

The website is at www.encyclopediaofarkansas.net.
