This article was published January 13, 2013 at 2:09 p.m.

— A Crawford County judge has rejected motions to suppress evidence and a statement given by a man charged with capital murder.

Attorneys for 44-year-old Ronald Anthony Cash sought to suppress a gun taken from the home of Cash’s father when Cash was arrested and statements he made to police. Cash is charged with in the February shooting death of 40-year-old Tammie Lea Schlude.

Schlude was found dead in the parking lot of the high school football stadium.

The Times-Record reports that defense attorney William James says Cash is not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.

Police said Cash asked after his arrest if the woman had died and commented that his “life is over.” A police report said Cash confessed to killing Schlude because she was seeing another man.
