Three sentenced in federal court on drug, weapons charges

Five more pleaded guilty

Three people charged with multiple gun and drug charges were sentenced in federal court Thursday and Friday.

U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas Conner Eldridge states James Pitts, 27, of Hot Springs was sentenced Friday to 105 months in prison and three years of supervised release after pleading guilty Nov. 14 to charges of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.

Jermaine Ray, 29, of Hot Springs was sentenced to 111 months in prison without parole and an additional three years of supervised release on Thursday for charges of felon in possession of a firearm and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Dominique Buffington, 24, of Arkadelphia was sentenced to 70 months without parole and two years of supervised release for the same felon in possession charge as Ray.

An additional five people, Alonzo Brodie, 27; Audrey Solomon 29; Latasha Rowland 27; Michael Brooks 29, all of Raleigh, N.C. and Eddie Smith, 29, of West Helena, pleaded guilty Thursday to charges of conspiring to distribute over 500 grams of cocaine.
