— Carrie Suzanne Binder became the bride of Joseph Brint Marks at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, in the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel, New Orleans. Rabbi Eugene Levy officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Lisa and Dr. Dore Binder of Baton Rouge. She is the granddaughter of the late Bebe and Leon Binder of Baton Rouge and Isabel Posner, also of Baton Rouge, and the late Dr. Gerald Posner of Opelousas, La.

The groom is the son of Becky and Dr. Jay Robert Marks, 1611 Wetherborne Drive. He is the grandson of Janice and Jerry Brewer of Junction City, Leon Marks of Little Rock and the late Beatrice Brint Marks.

Vows were exchanged under a chuppah made with white sheer fabric and tied back with clusters of white roses and hydrangeas.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory Chantilly trumpet style gown with a champagne satin sash. She carried white roses, hydrangeas and orchids.

Haley Binder of New Orleans was her sister’s maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Leah Fuerst Raley and Sadie Weiner, both of Washington; Gab Stolarski of New York; and Lauryn Hoffman, Courtney Kirkpatrick and Sara Loewy, all of Houston.

They wore strapless gowns of dusty lavender silk-chiffon and carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet.

Serving as the groom’s honor attendants were Ryan Gibson and Tyler CarlLee, both of Little Rock. Groomsmen were Nick Limbird of Bentonville, brother of the groom; Jeffrey Marks of Little Rock, brother of the groom; Jason Binder of St. Louis, brother of the bride; Jonathan Rosenberg of Monroe, La.; and Kris Khalil of New Orleans.

Ring bearers were Chase and Tripp Olive of Little Rock, nephews of the groom.

A reception in the hotel’s grand ballroom followed the ceremony. Silver julep cups held bouquets on the guest book and cake tables. Other tables were decorated with bubble bowls filled with roses or tall cylinder vases of cymbidium orchids. Music was by The Mixed Nuts.

The bride has a bachelor’s degree in finance from University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in health administration from the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in New Orleans. She is a billing application analyst.

The groom is a graduate of Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, with bachelor’s degree in history and political science, and is studying for a juris doctorate at the university’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center.

The couple will make their home in Baton Rouge and plan a summer wedding trip.
