— Companies reporting quarterly earnings Tuesday included:

Lee Enterprises Inc., the publisher of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, a profit of $14.6 million, or 28 cents a share, equal to a profit of $14.6 million, a year ago. Its earnings per share rose to 32 cents because it had fewer outstanding shares. Revenue fell 3 percent to $185.5 million. Shares rose 2 cents to close at $1.26.

Brinker International, the parent company of Chili’s and Maggiano’s restaurants, a proÿt of $37.2 million, or 50 cents a share, up from $35.7 million, or 44 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue edged up 1 percent to $689.8. Shares fell 80 cents to close at $32.57.

DuPont Co., the chemical and bioscience company, a profit of $111 million, or 12 cents a share, down 70 percent from $373 million, or 40 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue was◊at at $7.3 billion. Shares rose 83 cents to close at $47.82.

Verizon Communications Inc., a loss of $4.23 billion, or $1.48 per share, from a loss of $2.02 billion or 71 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 6 percent to $30.05 billion. Shares rose 40 cents to close at $42.94.
