— Arkansas' defense showed signs of what coach Mike Anderson envisioned his teams to look like Wednesday.

The Razorbacks' pressure forced Mississippi State into 29 turnovers and blocked 11 shots in a 96-70 win over the Bulldogs at Bud Walton Arena.

Arkansas scored 42 points off the Mississippi State miscues and outscored the Bulldogs 23-2 in transition. Marshawn Powell scored a team-high 17 points and BJ Young added 13 in his first game off the bench this season.

Arkansas (12-6, 3-2 Southeastern Conference) used a 14-1 run to take the lead for good after Mississippi State scored the game's first basket. The Razorbacks led 42-33 at halftime.

The relentless defense continued after the intermission. Arkansas used a 16-0 run after the Bulldogs pulled within 11 points midway through the period, and the Razorbacks led by as many as 30.

Arkansas made 49 percent of its field goal attempts. Paced by Young and Coty Clarke (13 points), the Razorbacks' bench outscored Mississippi State 60-35.

The 26-point win was Arkansas' largest in an SEC game since 2010. The Razorbacks have won their three SEC home games by an average of 19 points.

Mississippi State (7-10, 2-3) has lost three straight games by a combined 73 points.
