Little Rock man arrested after car chase ends in crash

A Little Rock man was arrested on several charges Sunday after leading authorities on a car chase that ended in a crash and then running from the scene, police said.

A Little Rock officer initially tried to stop Oscar Canamore, 26, for going 47 mph in a 35 mph zone, but he accelerated, traveled at a high rate of speed for about a mile and then hit another vehicle near Reservoir and Treasure Hill roads, according to a report. It happened about 6:15 p.m.

Canamore ran from the crash scene, but later returned and was arrested, police said. A small amount of marijuana and a scale were found in the vehicle, according to the report.

A court appearance is set for July 15. Canamore faces charges of reckless driving, hit-and-run, fleeing, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, speeding and reckless driving.
