The Arkansas Legislative Black Caucus is organizing a vigil over the Trayvon Martin verdict.
The group said the event at 8:30 p.m. Monday at the state Capitol isn't a protest or rally. Instead, the caucus said, the gathering is to encourage the end of "profiling and systemic disenfranchisement of African-American males."
Organizers ask people attending to bring flashlights and cell phones to provide a lighting effect.
Caucus Chairman Rep. Fred Love of Little Rock said the event is a call to action and people from all walks of life, including police, are invited to attend.
Neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman was acquitted over the weekend in the killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Fla.
