Authorities say a Batesville man died Thursday night after his sport utility vehicle ran off the road in a curve and hit a tree.
It happened shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Dry Run Circle in Batesville.
Arkansas State Police say Elmer Urias Quina Reyes, 24, was driving a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder south when the SUV "failed to negotiate a curve" and went airborne. The vehicle then hit a tree.
Reyes died from unspecified injuries. He is the 196th person to die in a traffic accident in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
