Wedding vows were exchanged at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 8, in St. Edward Catholic Church by Megan Elizabeth Bright and John Michael Connor III, who goes by Jack. The Rev. Patrick Malone, uncle of the bride and pastor of St. John’s at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Judy and Benny Bright of Maumelle. She is the granddaughter of the late Elizabeth and Richard Malone of St. Paul, Minn., and the late Stella and Murl Bright of Bradford.

The groom is the son of Rosalind and John Connor Jr. of Nashville, Tenn. His grandparents are the late Helen Coit and Joseph Liles Jr. , both of Wadesboro, N.C., and the late Mildred and John Conner of North Attleboro, Mass.

Candles and dogwood trees decorated the chancel. Music was by organist Phillip Quick. Readings were by Mary Malone, Kathy Tilson, Joseph Liles III and Diane Malone.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a trumpet-style, chapel-length gown of ivory satin with an overlay of ivory lace. She carried a bouquet of hydrangeas, lisianthus and ranunculus.

Maid of honor was Ashley Simmons of Little Rock. Bridesmaid was Sally Connor of Chattanooga, Tenn., sister of the groom. They wore navy peau de soie cocktail dresses and carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet.

Best man was John Michael Coulter of Knoxville, Tenn. Daniel Bright of Little Rock, brother of the bride, served as a groomsman. Guests were seated by Chad Phillips of Nashville and Christopher Wright of Birmingham, Ala.

A reception at the The Junior League of Little Rock Building followed the ceremony. Tables held tall vases of white birch branches hung with votive candles or glass bowls of white roses. Music was by the Sensations of Memphis.

The bride is a cum laude graduate with a bachelor’s degree in French from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where she was a Bodenhamer Fellow and a Governor’s Distinguished Scholar. She graduated with a doctorate of dental surgery from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She is a dental resident in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at the University of Tennessee at Memphis.

The groom graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering and was a member of Kappa Sigma. He graduated with a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Memphis. He is a regulatory specialist for the orthopedics company Smith & Nephew.

After a wedding trip to the Pacific Northwest, the couple will reside in Memphis.
