DALLAS — Dallas police say a worker fired by a barber shop owner has been accused of returning and killing his boss.
Dallas County jail records show 30-year-old Charles Dewayne Hooks was being held Saturday on a murder charge. Online jail records do not list an attorney for Hooks, whose bond was set at $250,000.
Sr. Cpl. Melinda Gutierrez on Saturday identified the victim as 29-year-old Alejandro Fernandez.
Gutierrez says Fernandez on Friday had fired Hooks. The suspect later returned to the shop and allegedly shot the barber, then fled. The victim died later at a Dallas hospital. Police arrested Hooks a few blocks away.
Further details weren't immediately released on what led to the suspect's dismissal.
