Bridge painting, overnight detours end at Big Rock Interchange

Overnight detours at the Interstate 630/Interstate 430 interchange are now a thing of the past.

According to a release from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, painting of the bridges over the interchange has concluded, meaning the end of all overnight detours that have been ongoing for the past year, at least for the foreseeable future.

Work is still continuing on the interchange around the clock. Crews are still in the process of painting future flyover ramps, which has prevented drivers from accessing the northeast and southeast loop ramps. Those closures are expected to be in place until Thursday, though that new phase of work will not affect traffic.

The AHTD still advises motorists to proceed with caution when traveling in the area.
