Kansas Gov. Brownback to speak at GOP dinner

LITTLE ROCK — Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback is speaking at a fundraiser for the Arkansas Republican Party in Little Rock.

Brownback is scheduled to speak Friday night at the state GOP's annual Reagan-Rockefeller Dinner in downtown Little Rock.

Brownback is a former congressman and U.S. senator who was elected governor in 2010. He ran unsuccessfully for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008.

The party also planned Saturday to hold its state committee meeting at the Holiday Inn Airport Hotel in Little Rock. U.S. Reps. Tim Griffin and Steve Womack planned to speak at the meeting, along with radio host Alice Stewart and Louisiana state Sen. Elbert Guillory.
