Who will be Miss Arkansas’ Outstanding Teen?

— Several young women with ties to the Tri-Lakes Edition coverage area will compete in Miss Arkansas’ Outstanding Teen Pageant Wednesday through Saturday at the Hot Springs Convention Center’s Horner Hall.

Preliminary competition will be held Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with the winner to be announced on Saturday.

Local contestants include the following:

• Miss Greater Hot Springs: Ashley Wilson, the 16-year-old daughter of Wesley and Carla Wilson of Bauxite, is a student at Bauxite High School. She will present a lyrical dance to “A Thousand Years” for her talent. Her platform issue is Stand Tall Against Bullies.

• Miss Ouachita River: Grace McClanahan, the 16-year-old daughter of Mac and Paulette McClanahan of Hot Springs, is a student at Lakeside High School. She will present a vocal solo, “Gimme Gimme,” as her talent. Her platform issue is Music Matters.

• Miss Sweetheart of Arkansas: Alexis Landers, the 15-year-old daughter of Josh Landers and Brianna Mathews, is a student at Bryant High School. She will present a fiddle solo, “The Orange Blossom Special,” as her talent. Her platform issue is Endless Possibilities.
