DARNELL RONALD BECK, age 43, of Little Rock, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, in Little Rock. Mr. Beck was born April 25, 1969, in Pine Bluff, the son of Darwyn Beck and Mary Ann Dillard Beck Davis.

Mr. Beck was reared and educated in Pine Bluff, where he attended the Pine Bluff schools. He was also a graduate of Southern Technical College in Little Rock. He attended the Church at Rock Creek and was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Gulf War.

He is survived by his father, Darwyn Beck, mother and step-father, Mary Ann Dillard Beck Davis and Danny Davis, all of Pine Bluff; daughter, Kayla Beck; son Dylan Beck, both of Star City; step-son, Devin Weeks; very special friend, Sheila Easterly of Little Rock; step-sister, Carol Ivy of Pine Bluff and step-brother, Kevin Davis of Austin, Texas.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 1, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors with Reverend Dr. Roger Stewart officiating. SHIRLEY ANN ROLLANS, age 71, of Little Rock, died on March26, 2013, in Little Rock after a hard fought battle with cancer.

RUTH A. MATHEWS SNOW, age 91, of Little Rock, left this lifeand entered into Heaven Thursday, March 28, 2013. She was surrounded by her family.

BENTON - Beverly Lanier Kaufman Angrand, 65, of Benton,died at home on March 26, 2013. A talented artist who loved to travel, she was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on March 31, 1947. Beverly graduated from Clarendon High School, theUniversity of Arkansas and received her Masters from Henderson State University. She taught art for many years in the Pulaski County School System.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Marcus and Margaret Kaufman. Beverly is survived by her daughter, Monica Angrand of Santa Monica, California and brothers, Dr. Dwight Kaufman and Mark Kaufman.

BENTON - Alexine R. Timm, age 96, of Benton, passed awayTuesday, March 26, 2013. She was born on May 12, 1916 in Sioux City, Iowa to the late Alexis and Florence Menard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by herhusband of 75 years, Donald Burton Timm, and her eight siblings.

Mrs. Timm was a lifelong advocate for those in need. She served as the executive director of the Garland County Mental Health Association, and helped found Jackson House of Hot Springs, serving as the first chairman of the board. She was recognized as Mental Health Volunteer of the Year - 1980, and was honored to meet with First Lady Rosalyn Carter in Washington, D.C., as a result. She loved: her family, books, growing things, lively discussions about the Bible, watching birds, encouraging second helpings at meals, winning at word games, laughter, every tree she saw, and knowing God who was the foundation of her life.

Survivors include her three sons: Matthew Timm and wife Carol King of Nashville, Tenn., Joel Timm and wife Kristine of Van Nuys, Calif., and Jonathan Timm and wife Cyndi of Little Rock; three daughters: Carolyn Spillers and husband David, Elizabeth Selby and husband John, all of Benton, and Victoria Taff and husband Russ of Nashville, Tenn.; six grandsons: Nathan, Andrew, and Daniel Spillers, Joshua Timm, Zachary Selby, and Julian Timm; five granddaughters: Sarah Winne, Leah Opitz, Caroline Timm, and Madi Rose and Charlotte Taff; three great-grandsons: Cameron and Adam Spillers and Julien Allison; four great-granddaughters: Anna Rose Timm, Perri and Finley Opitz, and Cecilia Allison.

CONWAY - Kathleen Wallace Rongey, 79, of Conway, formerlyof Searcy, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 28, 2013. She was born Saturday, July 8, 1933 in Sidon, Arkansas to the late Harvey and Belma Price Wallace.

Mrs. Rongeywas a retired manager of a retail clothing store and a member of West Race Baptist Church of Searcy. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, reading, cooking, gardening and especially loved spending time with her dogs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin Foster; brother, Johnny Wallace; sister, Wanda Fulmer; and grandson, Andrew Foster. GRIFFITHVILLE - Reverend John Henry Hall, 70, of Griffithville, died Wednesday, Marcy 27, in Griffithville. He was born May 30, 1942 in Forest City, Arkansas, the son of Henry and Ethel Hall.

John is survived by his mother, Ethel Hall of Searcy; four brothers, Richard, James and wife Lynn, Terry and Arnold; three sisters, Peggy Laws and husband Jimmy, Mary Wellen and husband Bob, and Brenda Henry and husband Garry. McCRORY - Melvin Aaron “Toad” Jacobs entered into his rest on March 28, 2013. He was 84 years of age. Melvin was born on October 1, 1928 to the late Alfred and Ollie (Dix) Jacobs. Melvin was a farmer for many years. He also owned and operated Jacobs Grocery until his retirement. He loved to get out and about riding the streets, keeping up with what was going on in town. He loved collecting old coins as a hobby.

In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Lola Mae (Blake) Jacobs. He is survived by two sons, Bobby Lynn Jacobs of McCrory, Ark., Charles Ray and wife Margie Jacobs of Mc-Crory, Ar.; one daughter, Gwen Andrews and husband Johnny of Cherry Valley, Ark.; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kelsie Rhodes of McCrory, Ark., Dorothy Coates of Searcy, Ark.; one brother, Harold Jacobs of McCrory, Ark.

POCAHONTAS - Cheryl (Bray) Tyler, 56, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, died Thursday, March 28, 2013. She was a 1974 graduate of Cabot High School and was an active member of Pocahontas Missionary Baptist Church where she loved working withthe children’s ministry. Her family was very important to her; she was a loving wife, mother, granny, a wonderful daughter and a great sister.

Cheryl was the daughter of Betty Bray of Ward and the late Carl E. Bray. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Michael Tyler of Pocahontas; two sons, John C. Tyler of Memphis, Tennessee and Jason D. Tyler and wife Leann of Corning; two grandchildren, Duncan and Kairi Tyler of Corning; and one sister, Carlyn Bray of Ward. She was preceded in death by her sister Donna Bray and her father, both of Ward.

STUTTGART - Mildred Irene Price, 85, of Stuttgart,Arkansas, passed quietly in her sleep on March 23, 2013. She was born April 26, 1927 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Mary Anne Bell and Albert Henry Dale. Mildred servedas a nurse for many years. She was a long time member of the Grand Prairie Evangelical Methodist Church in Stuttgart, where she met and became friends with Rev. Thomas Bormann.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Price; her parents and all her siblings, Leon Bee Bush, Albert Dale, Martha Dale (Barth), Bonnie Dale (Carter), Doris Dale (Lunsford), and Mary Dale (Vail). She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.

WARREN - Burgess Marvin Williams, age 94 of Warren, Arkansas joined his many friends and family into the presence of the Lord on Thursday March 28, at Chapel Woods Nursing Center in Warren, AR. Burgesswas born on June 16, 1918 in Cleveland County Arkansas to Marvin Alexander and Anna Belle Carraway Williams. He married Ophelia Wagnon, the love of his life on June 1, 1941. She preceded him in death on January 22, 2013. He was truly a man from the “Greatest Gen-eration”. Burgess was a veteran of WWII serving with remarkable distinction in the U.S. Army with the 236th Combat Engineer Battalion in China, Burma, and India. Burgess spent his life in the Bradley, Cleveland, and Lincoln County area with exception of the 3 years in the military. He established his first business in Warren in 1938 just after graduating from New Edinburg High School. After returning from military service he opened Burgess Sales and Service, a family operated business in Warren since 1947. He loved his family and worked hard to provide for them. By example he taught his children and grand children the work ethics and dedication necessary to succeed in the work force and in life. Burgess operated a cattle farm in Lincoln County and for 56 years operated a mail contracting business in Southeast Arkansas from the US Postal Service. He was awarded the Eagle Spirit Award from the US Postal Service in recognition of his many years of exemplary service. He served as a member, director, and officer for the National Star Route Mail Carriers Association for 45 years. He was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Warren, a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and song director. For over 50 years he sang in the Warren Quartet with his wife, brother-in-law, Bruff Hudson and friend Alvin Doggett. The quartet had a daily radio show in the 1950’s that aired at noon on KWRF-AM in Warren. Burgess served on the Lincoln County Quorum Court, a director and officer of Lincoln County Farm Bureau, and a member of the Arkansas Cattleman’s Association. He was a fan of the Warren Lumberjack football team for over half a century. He was a very positive man and his inspiration will live with his family for many generations to come.

Burgess is preceded in death by his wife Ophelia, a son Robert Williams, daughter Patsy Williams Trammell and grandson Will Alpe. He is also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Lathan Williams and Gene Williams and two sisters Verna Mae Hudson and Opal Jean Williams. Burgess is survived by a daughter Gloria Williams Alpe and husband Dick of Bella Vista, Ark. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Mike Williams and wife Sandra of Warren; Ladonna Williams Hammons and husband Joe of Warren; Robin Alpe Wright and husband Dan of Bentonville; and Kristel Williams Ashcraft and husband Craig of Rye; seven great-grandchildren Chris, Christina, Jaclyn, Austin, Drew, Emily, and Katie and three great-great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members including his daughter in law Pat Williams, the Nathan Moore family and the community of Cornerville where he and Ophelia lived for 40 years.

Born in Arkansas, she graduated from North Little Rock HS in 1941, and married her high school sweetheart, Pat Hodges, who passed away in 1949. She married Paul Michnewicz, moving to Oak Park, Ill. MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A.P. “Bud” Mulligan, 88, died peacefully Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospice. Bud graduated from Duke University, playing football and golf for the Blue Devils. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and worked for Shell Oil Company for25 years. He left Shell Oil Company to purchase and operate The Southern Company of North Little Rock.

Bud was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Sophie Sumner Hobson Mulligan. He is survived by his daughters, Robin Meinert (Jerry) of Kansas City and Barbara Mulligan of Memphis; son, Robert Mulligan of Little Rock; sister, Barbara Davidson of Tampa; and granddaughters, Alexandra and Kaitlyn Meinert.

Services will be held Tuesday, April 2 at 2 p.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 1000 N. Mississippi in Little Rock, AR with internment immediately following.
