Henderson State looks at guns on campus

ARKADELPHIA — Henderson State University's board of trustees are meeting this morning to decide whether to allow faculty and staff members with concealed-handgun permits to carry the weapons on campus.

Act 226 of 2013 was signed into law March 1 and will take effect 90 days from that date, according to the Arkansas Bureau of Legislative Research.

The University of Central Arkansas board of trustees in Conway said no last week to concealed weapons on campus, becoming the first public university to take a vote on the issue.
