Police investigate a shooting at Verizon Arena in North Little Rock Tuesday, May 21.

North Little Rock police have identified the victim and the man accused in a shooting that occurred late Tuesday morning at Verizon Arena.

About 11:20 a.m., 18-year-old Jasmine Fisher was walking to her vehicle from the arena when she saw a male, became scared and turned around to go back into the arena, North Little Rock Police Sgt. Brian Dedrick said. Fisher, a Parkview Arts and Science Magnet High School student, was then shot near the entrance of the arena, where officers found her a short time later.

Officers also found 20-year-old Christian Jackson suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on a grassy area west of the arena.

Both Fisher and Jackson were taken to UAMS Medical Center. Jackson is listed in serious but stable condition, and Fisher's injuries were not life-threatening, Dedrick said.

The shooting was suspected to be a "domestic dispute," according to Dedrick. He said it was not clear if the victims were currently dating or had been in a previous relationship.

Dedrick said charges would be filed against Jackson.

Parkview and McClellan high schools were scheduled for graduation practices at the arena this morning.

A Parkview official said the school's graduation ceremony is still scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Police will provide added security at the event, Dedrick said.
