A North Little Rock restaurant is closed Wednesday because of an overnight break-in.

Allen Littlefield, owner of Littlefield's Starlite Diner at 250 E. Military Drive, said he believed his restaurant was burglarized about 4 a.m.

Littlefield, 34, of Sherwood said employees arrived at the diner Wednesday morning to find the side glass door of the restaurant shattered by a piece of concrete and a cash register containing $20 in change missing. No other items were taken, he said.

"It was pretty quick. They went in, got [the register], and went straight out," he said.

It wasn't immediately clear whether one or more burglars were involved in the break-in. A North Little Rock Police Department report states no other evidence was found at the scene, and a department spokesman said a surveillance camera was not in use at the time of the burglary.

An employee said the business will reopen at 6 a.m. Thursday.
