MovieStyle: If I had a hammer …

Oscar watchers might rejoice, for one of the years more anticipated releases opens this Friday. Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave is perhaps the year’s most buzzed about films, and our Piers Marchant saw it at the Toronto Film Festival a couple of months ago. In other news. Philip Martin reviews Kevin Macdonald’s How I Live Now, which isn’t your average adaptation of a young adult romance, and Dan Lybarger reviews the latest rom-com bauble from Richard Curtis, About Time. For Dan’s takes on Man of Tai Chi and 22 Bullets, check out blooddirtangels.com.
