LR police seek man in Starbucks robbery

Little Rock police are searching for a man who robbed a Starbucks early Sunday and threatened to shoot two employees if they did not give him the business's money.

About 6:08 a.m., police responded to an armed robbery report at the Starbucks business located at 5719 Kavanaugh Blvd., according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

The two employees — a 31-year-old North Little Rock woman and a 35-year-old Little Rock man — told police that a man dressed in all black entered the store and ordered a coffee, the report states. The woman began fixing the man's drink when her male co-worker came out of the back of the store.

The woman told police that when she walked toward the register, the man displayed a silver handgun with his right hand, jumped over the counter and demanded the money out of the business's safe and registers. The robber said he would shoot the two employees if they did not cooperate, the woman told officers.

The two employees gave the robber an undisclosed amount of cash from the business's safe and four registers, the report states. The robber left the store east in a silver car.

The robber is described as black, standing 5 foot 5 and weighing about 140 pounds. He is estimated to be between 19 and 23 years old with short black hair, brown eyes and a tattoo of cursive writing on his neck.

The investigation is ongoing.
