Hot Springs man gets 7+ years for child porn

A 50-year-old Hot Springs man has been sentenced to more than seven years in prison for downloading child pornography, authorities said Thursday.

Paul Dunn was sentenced earlier this week to 87 months in prison and five years of supervised release, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas Conner Eldridge said in a statement.

“Victimizing innocent children is horrendous and inexcusable," Eldridge said. "Every time a video or image involving sexual abuse of children is downloaded or viewed, those children are re-victimized. We will continue to aggressively prosecute cases such as this and hold the perpetrators of these crimes accountable."

An undercover operation that began in August 2011 led investigators to a computer owned by Dunn that had "numerous images of child pornography, including multiple videos of minors engaged in sexual conduct with adults," according to the statement.

Dunn pleaded guilty to receipt of child pornography in June and was sentenced Tuesday by U.S. District Judge Susan O. Hickey.
