Ex-correctional officer sought in rape case

Authorities are searching for a former correctional officer suspected of following a woman home from a Little Rock bar and sexually assaulting her.

The Pulaski County sheriff's office said 23-year-old Colin Breshawn Toatley is wanted on a warrant. He's facing charges of rape and terroristic threatening.

A sheriff's office report states the victim reported meeting a man at a Little Rock bar on Oct. 17, and he later offered to follow her and her friend to their home outside North Little Rock for their "safety."

Once they arrived, the man followed the women inside without permission, asked to use the bathroom and then requested one of the women to come into the room, the report states. The victim said he then attacked and sexually assaulted her, police said.

Lt. Carl Minden said DNA and physical evidence linked Toatley to the crime.

A spokesman for the Arkansas Department of Correction said Toatley had worked as a correctional officer at the Maximum Security Unit in Tucker beginning in May. He later resigned and his final work day was Sept. 26.

Toatley has a Little Rock address but is also "known to frequent the Pine Bluff and Malvern areas," the sheriff's office said.
