Howell, Badgers roll in rout over overmatched Panthers

ARKADELPHIA - Senior quarterback Jakahari Howell accounted for 239 yards running and passing and five touchdowns in Arkadelphia’s 49-7 victory over Ashdown (6-2, 3-2).

Howell completed 16 of 19 passes for 123 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran 11 times for 116 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Badgers (8-0, 5-0 7-4A) led 35-0 at halftime.

Senior tailback Kris Oliver finished with 101 yards running and receiving and threw a 28-yard touchdown pass. John Franklin Matros caught two touchdown passes, and cornerback Adrian Barrett returned an interception 55 yards for another touchdown.

NO. 2 PB DOLLARWAY 32, STUTTGART 13

PINE BLUFF - Joshua Liddell passed for two touchdowns and ran for one score to help lead Pine Bluff Dollarway (8-0, 5-0 2-4A) past Stuttgart (4-4, 3-2).

Liddell had touchdown passes of 37 yards to Kabion Ento and 15 yards to Henri Murphy. Murphy also scored on a 75-yard reverse play to open the second half.

Darius Robinson had a 69-yard run for Dollarway’s other touchdown. He rushed for 96 yards on 6 carries.

Stuttgart led 6-0 at the end of the first quarter, having scored on a short run late in the period while holding Dollarway scoreless. Dollarway bounced back to lead 20-6 at the half.

Stuttgart’s other score came in the third quarter.

NO. 3 VALLEY VIEW 52, JONESBORO WESTSIDE 7

JONESBORO - Senior quarterback Noah Johns passed for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead Valley View past Jonesboro Westside to remain undefeated and atop the 3-4A conference.

Senior Jaegers Sullins rushed 14 times for 143 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Blazers (8-0, 5-0). He scored on a 44-yard run in the first quarter and a 20-yard run in the second.

Johns’ touchdown passes went to Seth Vickery for 47 yards in the first quarter and to Jacob Lorenzana, also for 47 yards, in the second quarter. Lorenzana, a senior, finished the with four catches for 90 yards.

On defense, senior Reese Snell had a 34-yard fumble return for another touchdown against Jonesboro Westside (6-2, 3-2), which began the night in second place in the conference.

NO. 4 HAMBURG 27, CROSSETT 22

CROSSETT - Defense accounted for two touchdowns for Hamburg (7-1, 5-0) during a 8-4A Conference victory over Crossett (2-6, 1-4).

Hamburg scored touchdowns off a blocked punt and an interception.

Logan Morris passed for 207 yards for Hamburg, while Desnond Stanley caught a Morris pass for one touchdown and scooped up a fumble for another touchdown.

Hamburg’s Nick Akers blocked a first-quarter punt and Ladarien Franklin returned it 15 yards for a touchdown, while teammate Drew Perry returned one of his two interceptions 55 yards for a touchdown.

Hamburg led 27-8 at the half.

Crossett scored on a 5-yard pass from Zach Goodwin to Deandre Jackson in the second quarter. Jackson scored again on a 49-yard run in the third period and Raeshun Williams scored on a 2-yard run in the fourth period.

NO. 5 WARREN 42, MONTICELLO 0

WARREN - Senior quarterback Drake Jones threw three first-half touchdown passes, including two to Jaylon Marshall, in Warren’s victory over Monticello (2-6, 2-3 8-4A).

The Lumberjacks (5-3, 5-0) have won five consecutive games.

After running 18 yards for a touchdown, Jones threw touchdown passes of 14 yards to Darveon Brown, 30 yards to Marshall and 20 yards to Marshall. Warren extended a 28-0 halftime lead to 35-0 on a 10-yard run by Trent Broughton with 10:41 left in the third quarter.
