Singer Chris Brown arrested, charged with assault in DC

WASHINGTON — Police say singer Chris Brown has been arrested in Washington, D.C. after a fight broke out near the W Hotel.

District of Columbia police spokesman Paul Metcalf says 24-year-old Brown was arrested and charged with felony assault Sunday. Metcalf says 35-year-old Chris Hollosy also was arrested on felony assault charges after the incident. Metcalf says both are being held in police custody until Monday.

The incident started just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday. The W Hotel is near the White House.

Police say one adult male victim was injured and was reportedly taken to a hospital with injuries. Police have not identified the victim. It was not immediately clear whether the victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance or by another vehicle.
