Authorities have arrested and charged a Lonoke man in purportedly kidnapping and assaulting a woman, the Lonoke County sheriff's department said in a statement on Monday.

Lonoke County Sheriff John Staley said that Dennis Harrington, 41, is being held at Lonoke County jail and that no bond has been set for his release.

Harrington was previously incarcerated and was released on parole, Staley said.

The woman Harrington purportedly kidnapped is Lonoke resident Rebecca Lauer, 36, whom authorities say is still missing. Lauer — who stands at 5-foot-7 and weighs about 140 pounds — was last seen on Clay Hill Road in Little Rock on July 21, the department said.

Police ask anyone with information about Lauer's location to contact the Lonoke County sheriff's department at 501-676-3000.
