Where I live: I live with my 6-year-old dog, Bailey, in a home in Riverdale.
Occupation: I am the chief development officer of Pulaski Technical College and the executive director of the PTC Foundation.
My favorite space: My spare bedroom, which I call my Rainbow Room.
Why? I have three bedrooms in my home. Obviously, I sleep in one of them. The second bedroom functions as my closet and dressing room. The third bedroom houses rainbows. This is the first time I have ever lived alone and I don’t have much furniture. The Rainbow Room has a small sofa, a colorful pillow, my guitar and a few odds and ends. I have a prism hanging in a window which faces east, and the sunlight creates rainbows all over the room - on the floor, on the walls, on the ceiling. I use this room to be alone - to read, to think, to strum my guitar. My love for rainbows is no secret to those who know me well. I purchased the prism at the Buffalo River in Ponca while on a float trip. A dear friend of mine died when he was just 30, and his ashes had just been scattered in the river. When I look at the prism, I think of him. Rainbows remind me to be grateful for and aware of small miracles.
If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Add a second prism and double the fun.
