Rebecca Hedges Noonan

The Courtyard of the Arkansas Arts Center was the setting at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 29, for the marriage of Rebecca Ann Hedges and Zachary Thomas Noonan. The grandmother of the bride officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Cindy and Dr. Hal Hedges of Little Rock. She is the granddaughter of Merry Helen and Dr. Harold Hedges of Roland.

Parents of the groom are Christine Noonan and Thomas Noonan, both of Naples, Fla.

The lower courtyard was lighted with string globe lights, lanterns and votive candles. The bride created a hanging sculpture for the ceremony backdrop. Garden containers of dark coral quince, parrot tulips, dianthus and succulents in shades of peach, apricot, yellow and aqua filled the courtyard. Music was by guitarist and vocalist Amy Garland Angel.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an off-white satin gown with a wrapped waist and a notched sleeveless neckline. Her birdcage veil was made of tulle. She carried a loose cascade of peonies, poppies, garden roses, succulents and jasmine vine in shades of ivory, coral, apricot and aqua.

Serving as the bride’s honor attendants were Molly Hedges Peckham of New Orleans, sister of the bride, and Katie Church Campbell of Washington. Bridesmaids were Jenny Blount Tucker of Durham, N.C.; Katelyn Littlejohn Kirnie of Chattanooga, Tenn.; Carly Deweese Brimer of Gadsden, Ala.; Jessica Hoffpauir of Charlotte, N.C.; and Mary Elizabeth Pritchard of Kidatu, Tanzania. They wore mint green dresses in the style of their choice and carried bouquets similar to the bride’s.

Calin Noonan of Brooklyn, N.Y., was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Sam Hedges of Albuquerque, N.M., brother of the bride; Alex Vivas of Del Ray, Fla.; Tom Vann of Orlando, Fla.; John Derbish of Des Moines, Iowa; and Fernando de la Madriz and Daniel Diaz, both of Miami. Guests were seated by Mac Wisom of Corvallis, Ore., and Clay LaPoint of San Francisco.

A reception in the arts center’s atrium followed the ceremony. The buffet held an arrangement of towering coral quince, apricot and peach French tulips and Icelandic poppies. Guest tables held a mix of low arrangements of fringe and parrot tulips, Icelandic poppies, ranunculus, anemones, orchids and succulents. Large displays of blooming branches and French tulips also decorated the atrium. Music was by Funky Town.

The bride has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss. She is a clinical research coordinator for the department of radiology at University of Colorado Hospital.

The groom is studying for a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

The couple will make their home in Charlottesville, Va., after the groom completes his degree.
