Sheriff's office: 4 injured by possible lightning strike in Faulkner County

Four people were injured Thursday afternoon in Faulkner County, and the sheriff's office says it was possibly caused by lightning.

Faulkner County sheriff's office Lt. Matt Rice said the four were working at a Southwestern Energy gas-drilling site in the Enders community off Arkansas 225 east, just northeast of Greenbrier, when they were purportedly struck by lightning about 3:30 p.m.

Centerville Fire Department and Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services officials responded to the scene and transported the injured to Conway Regional Medical Center, Rice said.

The extent of the workers' injuries wasn't immediately clear, but Rice said all are in stable condition.
