Alda’s Magnolia Hill was the setting at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 19, for the marriage of Dr. Courtney Elizabeth Lang and Armon Jeffrey Beard. The Rev. Daniel Proffitt of Trinity Fellowship in Amarillo, Texas, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Helen and Dr. Nicholas Lang, 1323 White Road, and the granddaughter of Lula and the late Paul Lang of Monette and the late Geneva and G.W. Haley, also of Little Rock.
Parents of the groom are Brenda and Chief Master Sgt. Greg Beard of Ozark. He is the grandson of Zenith and Kenneth Sturdivant of Ozark and the late Gaylene Ketchum Ivy of Bonnerdale.
Vows for the lakeside ceremony were exchanged at a stone altar which held two vintage urns filled with ferns and a large cathedral arrangement of hydrangeas, roses, stock, delphinium and Fuji chrysanthemums in shades of purple and chartreuse. Lanterns decorated with purple and chartreuse flowers and English ivy decorated the aisle. Harpist Lilly Ice played as guests were seated.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory silk-taffeta gown. The hand-embroidered V-neck Empire bodice had cap sleeves and the full skirt extended to a chapel train. She carried a loosely gathered clutch of purple hydrangeas, lisianthus, roses and stock.
Morgan Adams of Little Rock was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Dr. Kyla Lang and Michelle Jupin, both of Little Rock. They wore cocktail-length black duppioni-silk dresses with halter-style bodices and shirred skirts. They carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet.
Flower girls were Avery, Elodie and Ailie Lang of Agoura Hills, Calif., nieces of the bride, and Ashlyn and Alyson Childers of Ozark, nieces of the groom. Ring bearer was Ethan Lang of Agoura Hills, nephew of the bride.
Russell Sturdivant of Russellville, cousin of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Nick Burcham of Lavaca and Neil Satterfield of Alma.Guests were seated by Denver Holt of Farmington, David Medrano of Lubbock, Texas, and Matt McCollom of Greenwood.
A reception on the grounds of Alda’s Magnolia Hill followed the ceremony. Skirted guest tables were centered with roses and hydrangeas in antique milk bottles and vintage silver containers. A large purple and chartreuse arrangement of hydrangeas, roses, stock, delphinium and Fuji chrysanthemums decorated the buffet.
The bride graduated magna cum laude from University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She received a medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She is a resident physician in emergency medicine.
The groom has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from UA and is employed as a civil engineer.
The couple will live in Little Rock and plan a delayed wedding trip to Peru.
