VILONIA — A national nonprofit organization that works to reunite people with their photos after disasters is focusing on communities hard-hit by recent tornadoes.
The National Disaster Photo Rescue is reaching out to people in the communities of Vilonia and Mayflower.; Quapaw, Okla.; and Baxter Springs, Kan.; to try to help collect, document and reunite people with their personal photographs free of charge. More than a dozen people were killed and homes and businesses destroyed when tornadoes tore through the communities earlier this week.
The organization is looking for community drop-off locations and groups interested in helping with the effort.
