A Kensett man was killed Sunday night after the dirt bike he was riding hit a fence in White County, authorities said.

It happened about 8 p.m. as Jorge Villarreal, 37, was riding a 2009 KTM dirt bike west on Mountain View Circle west of Searcy, according to an Arkansas State Police report.

Police say the dirt bike first hit a fence line and then struck a utility pole. Villarreal died from unspecified injuries.

Conditions at the time were said to be clear and dry.

The death was the 262nd in a traffic accident in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
