Highway officials will hold a public hearing in Searcy next week over plans to create a two-lane connector road between Arkansas 36 and Arkansas 16 in north Searcy.
The connector will extend north from Arkansas 36, just west of Honey Hill Road, will cross Collins Road and then will curve east to Arkansas 16, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said Friday.
The meeting to discuss the design plan will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday in the cafeteria of Searcy High School, 301 N. Ella St. The public is invited to view displays, ask questions and offer input, highway officials said.
