Officers on patrol found Joseph Mauldin, 51, at East 30th Street and Confederate Boulevard and noticed he had several small cuts and bruises and the 31/2-foot branch in his hand was bloodied on the end, according to police reports.

Mauldin told officers that his brother, Rodger Mauldin, attacked him with the club because he wasn't keeping their homeless camp clean of his beer cans, reports said.

Officers went to the homeless camp where Rodger Mauldin was found with broken bones and a head injury.

After further investigation, officers determined that Joseph Mauldin was the "primary aggressor" in the fight and charged him with second-degree domestic battery, a felony.

He remained in the Pulaski County jail Wednesday night where he was being held in lieu of $2,500 bond.

Police: Inmate bra hid drugs, phone

A Jacksonville woman who was being held in custody faces felony charges after jailers learned she'd stashed a cell phone and drugs in her bra.

Several witnesses approached Jacksonville officers at the department's holding facility early Tuesday afternoon and told them that Jasmine Harris had a phone hidden in her bra.

One witness told jailers that Harris, 22, asked others if they had "any rolling papers" and then revealed she had marijuana hidden under her shirt.

After a search, Harris was charged with two felony counts of furnishing, possessing or using prohibited articles, as well as a misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana.

Harris was eventually taken to the Pulaski County jail and remained there Wednesday night in lieu of $2,500 bond.

Father-son dispute leads to shooting

A Little Rock man was arrested Tuesday after an argument with his 28-year-old son led to gunfire, police reported.

Officers responded about 9:07 a.m. to the 3100 block of South Spring Street. They soon spotted a Dodge Neon with its rear window shot out and pulled over the driver, Samuel Boulware.

Boulware told officers that he and his father, Samuel Robinson, had been in a dispute over Robinson's wife, according to a police incident report. Boulware went to Robinson's home to talk and Robinson, 61, purportedly retrieved a gun.

A witness told police he saw Robinson running down the street shooting at Boulware's car, the report said.

No injuries were reported.

Robinson told police Boulware had been "causing problems" the past two days and that it appeared his son arrived at the house with a weapon, according to the report. Robinson said he fired several times at his son's vehicle because it looked like Boulware was holding a gun out the window.

Officers reported recovering a semi-automatic handgun used in the shooting.

Robinson was charged with committing a terroristic act. He was not listed on the Pulaski County jail roster late Wednesday.
