Brinkley man, 29, sought in father's shooting death

Arkansas State Police searched Friday for a 29-year-old Monroe County man they believe killed his father and robbed his grandmother at gunpoint Thursday.

Dustin Heath Burrow of Brinkley has been charged with capital murder and aggravated robbery in the shooting death of his father, Carl Lynn Burrow, 62, and the robbery of his grandmother, Vaudean Burrow, 91.

Carl Lynn Burrow's body was discovered in a barn on the Burrow property, state police said.

Dustin Burrow may be driving a 2007 Chevrolet pickup with license plate number of 534 KTB, a state police news release said. He is white, 5-foot-7 and weighs 160 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen cashing a check at a bank in Brinkley, the release said.

The Burrows have grown soybeans and rice and raised minnows in rural Monroe County for decades and are well known there.

Lynn Grizzle -- who owns a farm adjacent to the Burrows' -- described Carl Burrow as a "good friend who would have given you the shirt off his back," adding that everyone in the community is shocked by his death.

"Never in a million years would I have thought something like this would happen to Carl," Grizzle said. "He was such a good man, and he will be remembered that way."

Others contacted about Carl Burrow's death said they also knew the Burrow family but declined to give their names out of respect for the family. A worker at the Flower Patch flower shop in Brinkley said emotions are running high in the community.

"Everyone knew this family," the worker said. "It's a tragedy beyond measure. There is a lot of hurt here right now."
