Showers and thunderstorms are expected for much of the state Friday through Sunday, forecasters say.

Some storms will produce gusty winds, but severe weather chances are “pretty low,” John Robinson, warning coordination meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Little Rock, said in an email.

Heavy, localized rain is possible throughout the weekend. Most of the state will see around a 1/2 inch of rainfall, while the southeast area could receive up to 2 inches.

Some brief, isolated flooding could occur, but no widespread flooding is expected, according to Robinson.
