Chuckwagon Races

CLINTON — The 29th annual National Championship Chuckwagon Races will conclude today at the Bar of Ranch, 2848 Shake Rag Road. The event will feature the wagon races, a variety of other activities and a nondenominational religious service. Admission is $25 per adult per day. Arkansas Archeological Society meeting

RUSSELLVILLE — The Arkansas River Valley Chapter of the Arkansas Archeological Society will meet at 7 p.m. at the Arkansas Tech University Museum, in the Techionery on the Arkansas Tech campus. The program, Volunteer Opportunities at the Ozark-St. Francis National Forest, will be presented by Mary Z. Brennan, national forest archeologist. The presentation is free and open to anyone interested in archeology.

Maumelle Photo Club meeting

MAUMELLE — The Maumelle Photo Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Maumelle Library. The theme for library photo displays will be “clouds.” A discussion will include selection of photos for the month’s display, photo field trips, photo opportunities in Maumelle, camera equipment for sale, Maumelle Magazine’s new issue and future themes for the library photo display. To become a member of the club, just attend a meeting. The club meets at 6:30 the first Tuesday of each month at the library.

Ladies’ Lunch Break

CONWAY — The First Wednesday Ladies’ Lunch Break will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Second Baptist Church, at Dave Ward Drive and Farris Road. Attendees are asked to enter the church parking area from Farris Road. Women of all ages are invited to attend. The meal, for $5, includes a drink and dessert. Spaghetti dinner

NEW DIXIE — St. Boniface Catholic Church will have a spaghetti and sausage dinner from 4-7:30 p.m. in St. Boniface Hall. The dinner will feature homemade rolls and cobbler. Lake, River Cleanup

GREERS FERRY — The 45th annual Greers Ferry Lake and Little Red River Cleanup will be held Saturday at various marinas and the federal fish hatchery. Volunteers will meet at the different locations to pick up trash along designated shoreline areas. Party barges will be used to transport the volunteers. Trash will then be taken to collection points around the lake and river, and a picnic lunch and entertainment will be provided for participants. For more information, visit www.greersferrylake.org.

Livestock Show and Fair

CLINTON — The 77th annual Van Buren County Livestock Show and Fair will be held

Saturday through Sept. 13 at the fairgrounds, 1827 Arkansas 16. Activities will include creative arts and livestock exhibits, a carnival, music shows, the Farmer for a Day event for children 10 and younger, a salute to veterans, a dog show and commercial exhibits.
