Girl, 14, shot outside LR school

A 14-year-old girl was shot Tuesday night outside a Little Rock elementary school.

The Little Rock Police Department says the victim, whose name was not released, was found by an officer lying in the northwest entrance to Wakefield Elementary School, 75 Westminister Drive, shortly before 8:30 p.m. She was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound on the left side of her abdomen.

The victim indicated someone she knew as "KP or KB shot her and left in a black car," the report added.

The girl was taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital for treatment. Her condition wasn't clear Wednesday.

Police noted they also spoke with a 17-year-old girl who was in tears as she walked away from the scene. She told investigators "a car full of dudes in a black car shot her friend," the report said.

No arrests have been made and the report didn't indicate what the motive in the shooting may have been.
