BETHEL HEIGHTS — An Arkansas food bank is about to receive a major food donation.
Harps Food and Smart Chicken plan to donate about 5,300 pounds of chicken to the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank. Thursday's donation will mark the 12th year the companies have donated chicken to those in need in Northwest Arkansas.
Marge Wolf, president and CEO of the food bank, said it has distributed nearly 14 million pounds of food in Northwest Arkansas during the past two years. And protein is the most-needed and hardest item to get for the hungry.
