Arkansas State followed up its biggest road victory of the season with its first home victory over a Division I opponent this season.

Anthony Livingston had 20 points and 20 rebounds Saturday to lead ASU back from a halftime deficit in a 67-58 victory over Marshall at the Convocation Center in Jonesboro.

Sean Gardner made 3 of 9 three-pointers and finished with 17 points and Cameron Golden added 14 points for the Red Wolves, who were 0-2 against Division I teams at the Convocation Center this season before Saturday.

The victory came three days after ASU won at Mississippi State, its first victory over a member of the SEC in 11 seasons. The formula for Saturday's victory was similar as when Livingston led ASU to a 49-43 edge in rebounding, which included outrebounding Marshall 33-18 in the second half.

"We took them off the glass, which gave us a chance to win it," Coach John Brady said. "I was proud of our guys. We're getting better. We've just got to continue to focus on the process, and if we do that enough the results will take care of themselves."

ASU (4-4) won Saturday when Livingston rebounded from three subpar offensive games. The transfer forward from San Jacinto (Texas) College was averaging 20.3 points through the first four games, but he was held to 12 points at Purdue, 11 at Toledo and eight against Mississippi State as his average dipped to 16.0 points.

Livingston was one of four Red Wolves to play 35 minutes or more Saturday and became the first ASU player to manage 20 points and 20 rebounds in a game since Jeff Clifton finished with 43 points and 25 rebounds in a victory over UALR in 1994.

Livingston made 6 of 16 shots from the floor, 7 of 13 free throws, and 16 of his rebounds came in the second half after Marshall took a 32-27 lead into halftime.

Marshall (4-7) led 39-31 after Cheikh Sane's three-pointer with 15:33 left, but ASU held it scoreless over the next four minutes and went on a 15-2 run to take control. Gardner made a jumper, Livingston made a three and added a free throw later, and Kelvin Downs' two free throws with 12:12 left tied the game at 39.

Downs' jumper with 9:33 left put ASU up 43-41, and it never trailed again.

Ryan Taylor led Marshall with 13 points, but the Thundering Herd were held to 25.6 percent shooting for the game.

ASU shot 36.8 percent and made 20 of 29 free throws. Marshall was 6 of 8 from the free-throw line.

"I've said we've got good enough players," Brady said. "We've got to learn to play together, and we've gotten better at that."
