Man tries to steal scrap metal, pulls knife, police say

A 40-year-old Little Rock man tried to take scrap metal from a Little Rock business and then pulled a knife on an employee who confronted him, according to a police report.

Little Rock police say it happened about 12:20 p.m. Monday at M and K Auto, 7020 Colonel Glenn Road.

The 43-year-old employee told investigators Christian Knight first showed up and asked if he could pick up scrap metal, according to the Little Rock Police Department report.

After the worker told him there was none to "give away," the employee spotted Knight on surveillance video loading scrap metal into his vehicle anyway, the report said.

"[The employee] said he approached Knight and asked him to leave again and Knight pulled a big knife from the dash of his truck and turned towards him," police wrote.

A brief altercation ensued, police said, before Knight got into his truck and fled, running over the employee's foot as he did so. The employee declined medical attention.

Pulaski County jail records show Knight was booked into that facility shortly before 4 a.m. Tuesday on charges of first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree terroristic threatening.
