Battery warrant issued in shooting

FORT SMITH -- Fort Smith police say they are looking for a man they believe shot and wounded another man Monday night.

A warrant has been issued for Jonathan Taylor, 30, charging him with first-degree battery in the shooting of Solomon Mousseaux, 28, at an apartment at 1331 South 46th St., according to a police news release. The warrant carries a $50,000 bond.

He had not been arrested as of Wednesday afternoon, said police spokesman Sgt. Daniel Grubbs.

The release stated that police were called to the apartment complex about 10:35 p.m. on a report of a possible shooting. Shortly after, officials at an undisclosed Fort Smith hospital confirmed that Mousseaux was being treated there for gunshot wounds in his hip and ankle.

Taylor was identified as a suspect in the shooting during the police investigation.

Taylor is described as white, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 165 pounds. Police consider him to be armed and dangerous.
