Little Rock police spokesman Lt. Sidney Allen said Friday that whether Jon Allen, 29, of 5106 Nancy Court had been shot inside or outside the vehicle was not yet known. He could not confirm whether Jon Allen’s vehicle had been damaged by bullets or if bullet casings had been found at the scene.

At 10:21 p.m., Little Rock police officers responded to a report of a possible vehicle accident at 5800 Stagecoach Road, a report said.

Perryville resident Russell Bench, a licensed practical nurse, told police he was driving along the road when he saw a vehicle that “looked to have run off the roadway and into some bushes.” Bench tried to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the injured man until medical help arrived.

Fire and rescue workers pulled Allen into an ambulance and advised police that he was not breathing and that he had been shot at least once, police said.

Allen’s wife, Glennis, told police her husband did not return home when she expected him and that she had been driving around looking for him.

Allen was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock where his body was eventually released to the coroner.

Police did not have any suspects as of Friday afternoon.
