A number of flights to and from Charlotte, N.C., Baltimore and Atlanta were canceled at the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport Thursday as a winter storm moved through the Mid-Atlantic region, dropping a foot or more of snow in places.
An online flight tracker on the airport website at 9 a.m. listed 15 arriving and departing flights canceled from those cities.
Clinton National advises would-be flyers to check with their airline before heading to the airport.
The winter storm made travel treacherous and caused widespread power failures as it moved from the Mid-Atlantic region northeast, dropping 15 inches of snow in Baltimore and 11 inches in Washington, D.C.
