State highway officials plan to hold a public hearing this week in Paragould to discuss plans for a new two-lane highway in the Greene County city.

The road is planned to start at the intersection of U.S. 412 and 72nd Street and run 5.2 miles south to U.S. 49/Linwood Drive, just south of Statler Road, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.

The meeting is set for 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in meeting room C of the Paragould Community Center, 3404 Linwood Drive. The public is invited any time during those hours to view displays, ask questions and comment, highway officials said.
