Paving work requires temporary Interstate 40 ramp closures today and Saturday in Forrest City, according to the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department.
Crews completing paving operations on exit and entrance loop ramps at Arkansas 1B in Forrest City will require the following closures:
7 a.m. to 1 p.m. today - Arkansas 1B north entrance ramp to I-40 west.
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today - I-40 west exit to Arkansas 1 south.
7 a.m. to noon Saturday - Arkansas 1B north entrance ramp to I-40 west.
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday - I-40 west exit to Arkansas 1 south.
During the temporary closure of the Arkansas 1B north entrance ramp to I-40 west, northbound traffic on Arkansas 1B in Forrest City will be detoured to Arkansas 1 north of Forrest City and will have access to I-40 west.
During the temporary closure of the I-40 west exit to Arkansas 1 south, westbound traffic will be detoured to Arkansas 1 at Exit 239.
The work is part of a $51.9 million project to reconstruct 7.8 miles of I-40 in St. Francis County, according to the department.
