Arkansas achievers

Alyssa Harrison of Little Rock has earned a Founders Scholarship from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa.

Frednesha Whiting has earned a Presidential Scholarship from Henderson State University for the 2014-15 school year. She is the daughter of DuVallo Portor and is currently a student at North Little Rock High School.

Ashley Granderson of Pine Bluff has been awarded an Academic Excellence Scholarship to attend Williams Baptist College. She is the daughter of Clint and Renee Granderson of Pine Bluff and is a graduate of White Hall High School.

Detective Paul Nall has been named Investigator of the Year for 2013 by the Texarkana Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division.

The Arkansas Speech Language Hearing Association announced the following award recipients: Dr. Patricia “Pat” Highley of Little Rock was named as the recipient of the Frank R. Kleffner Clinical Career Award.

Dr. Richard Zraick of Little Rock, professor in the department of audiology and speech pathology at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock/University or Arkansas for Medical Sciences, was named the recipient of the Research Award.

Carol Fleming of Sherwood, speech language pathologist at Pulaski Heights Middle School, was named the recipient of the Paula Gober Public School Award for Distinguished Service in Arkansas Public Schools.

Dr. Jordan King of North Little Rock, a doctor at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, has received the Audiology Award for her distinguished clinical achievements. Abyl Chastain of Mountain Home, Child Poster Ambassador.

Darby McGee of Hot Springs, Adult Poster Ambassador.

Arkansas State University at Mountain Home has awarded the following scholarships: Sebastian Aguirre of Mountain Home was awarded the Academic Distinction Scholarship.

Jennifer Bailey of Jordan was awarded a Twin Lakes Veteran Scholarship.

Dawn Bennett of Midway was awarded the Wilma Greeley Scholarship.

Sarah Brotherton of Salem was awarded the Evelyn Hill Osborn Teacher Education Scholarship. She is a graduate of Salem High School.

Judith Brown of Mountain Home was awarded a Roller Funeral Home in Memory of Mildred Ware Scholarship.

Yvonne Byrd of Mountain Home was awarded the David and Ethel Powell Memorial Scholarship.

Jesse Cooper of Mountain Home was awarded the Newth Scholarship. Cooper is a graduate of Norfork High School.

Stephanie Cotton of DeWitt was awarded a Roller Funeral Home in Memory of Mildred Ware Scholarship.

Amy Cotter of Elizabeth was awarded the Joe Dan and Carol Tyler Nursing Scholarship.

Patricia Esperon of Yellville was awarded a Dora Fee Bruce Scholarship.

Tiffany Ford of Gassville was awarded the Mildred S. Griffin Scholarship.

Madison Harned of Mountain Home was awarded a Dora Fee Bruce Scholarship. Harned is a graduate of Mountain Home High School.

Noelle King of Gassville was awarded the Denny Smith Scholarship.

Briana Koenen of Midway was awarded the Twin Lakes Human Resource Association Scholarship. She is a graduate of Mountain Home High School.

Andrea Melton of Mountain Home was awarded the Baptist Collegiate Ministry Spiritual Development Scholarship.

Lea Milford of Mountain Home was awarded a Roller Funeral Home in Memory of Mildred Ware Scholarship.

Christie Proffitt of Midway was awarded the Wilma Greeley Scholarship.

Gary Quinney Jr. of Mountain Home was awarded a Twin Lakes Veteran Scholarship.

Shelbie Thrasher of Mountain Home was awarded the Patrick Michael McKenna Memorial Scholarship. Thrasher is a graduate of Mountain Home High School.

Heather Yarbrough of Mountain Home was awarded the Patrick Michael McKenna Memorial Scholarship.

Arkansas Achievers is an opportunity to give recognition to Arkansans for their achievements.

Civilian and military achievements are accepted.
