Pedestrian killed after being struck by four vehicles

A pedestrian was killed after being hit by four vehicles on a highway early Friday morning, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary fatal crash report.

About 6:41 a.m, police said Keith Sandine, 54, of Pine Bluff, was walking south on an Arkansas 65 northbound lane in Chicot County when a northbound 2007 Kenworth vehicle struck Sandine.

The impact sent Sandine's body to land in another northbound lane, where three other vehicles hit him, state police said.

Authorities pronounced Sandine dead shortly after 7 p.m., the report states.

Police describe the conditions at the time as dry and clear. Sandine's death marks the third fatality in traffic accidents on Arkansas roads this year, according to preliminary reports.
