Woman accused of assault hits deputy, authorities say

A Little Rock woman was arrested in the jail release area Thursday after she struck a deputy as he investigated a report she was assaulting people, authorities said.

Robbie Hendrix, 31, remained held in the Pulaski County jail Friday morning with bail not yet set. She faces a charge of aggravated assault.

According to a Pulaski County sheriff's office report, Hendrix was at the jail "in the release area kicking people" before 1 p.m. when a deputy went to investigate.

Hendrix was arrested and "while bringing her in she hit" a deputy in the mouth, the report added.

It wasn't clear why Hendrix was in the release area before her arrest.

A preliminary court date is set Feb. 11.
